"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Weak moments - something that everyone will experience at multiple times in their lives. Moments where nothing is going quite as planned. Moments where you feel that your labor and your obedience is in vain. Moments where you want to crawl under a rock and cry out Why God? When God? Do you hear me God? These are your weak moments. This doesn't mean that you are weak, nor does it mean that your faith is weak. It simply means that you are human and you are being tested.
I have had weak moments and am sure that I will have more. It is a fact of life. Everything will not always be easy nor go as planned or desired. Life will bring about many challenges that may sometimes shake your faith. The enemy will use these times to get into your mind and could even have you second guessing the decision that you made. Satan will even trick you into questioning if what you know you heard from God, was actually from the Holy Spirit or your spirit.
There will also be times when your prayers take a long time to get answered. This is particularly frustrating when you are living according to God's standards rather than those of the world. These are the moments where you must continue to stand on the promises of God. It is not always easy to stand when life experiences continue to knock you down. It is not easy to stand when you can't see your way through the fight. But as children of Christ, we must put our faith in action and show that we trust God by standing on His promises.
In these moments, I quickly turn to The Word to remind myself of God's promises, His compassion and His love towards me, His daughter. The best thing about God is that he is nothing like man. God is faithful and true in everything that He does and says. His promises will never return to us void. Numbers 23:19 tells us that "God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?" If you are waiting and expecting God to move in your life, do "not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart" (Galatians 6:9). Continue to stand. If it is not easy to stand in these challenging time and weak moments, how do we stand on His promises?
I want to share with you some spiritual tips on how to continue to stand on his promises when your natural situation is affecting your spiritual faith.
- Feast on His Word - The Bible is the #1 place to go to for inspiration, encouragement and a dose of Faith boosters! Refer to these scriptures to remind yourself of His promises. They will encourage you and remind you that God has not forgotten about you. He will give you what you need in His perfect timing. Bible Verses to read: 2 Peter 1:4, Jeremiah 29:11, Philippians 4:9, Isaiah 40:29-31, Psalm 57:2-3, Isaiah 30:19, Matthew 21:22, Hebrews 11
- Remember that God's answers do not always look like our prayers - Sometimes, we don't realize that our prayers have already been answered because we are expecting for God to manifest His prayers according to our expectations. Always seek His will and His way and know that God doesn't always deliver the presents with the wrapping that we would like to see.
- Stay in Fellowship with men and women of God - These will be your God sent angels when you are weak. They will uplift you, encourage you, prayer with you and speak life into your situation. It is very important to surround yourself with people that can positively contribute to your life spiritually.
- Fast and Pray - A life without prayer is a powerless life. Prayer keeps you connected to God and it lets Him know that your faith and trust in Him is still there. Prayer alone will keep you standing! Fasting and prayer puts you in the best situation for a breakthrough. Fasting will allow you to clearly hear God's direction and commands over your life.
Are you waiting on God to do something that He has promised to do for you? Are you getting frustrated or discouraged? Is it hard to stay faithful and trust that God is moving in your life? I want to encourage you to stand. Stand on the promises of God and know that He is going to come through for you. Pray and ask God to help you to stand. As long as what you are praying for is in His will, it will be done! If your prayers have not yet been answered, know that God is preparing something bigger than you could ever imagine. He will not fail you. Get in the Word, stay in prayer and keep your spiritual eyes open so that you can discern God's voice.
"For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise." (Hebrews 6:13-15)
Lord, help me to remember that your promises will never return to me void and that you have not forgotten about it. I know that in my weak moments, you are testing my faith. I want my every action to show you that I trust Your will Your plan for my life. Lord, I submit every area of my life to you and I will continue to walk in obedience as I wait for the blessings that you shall manifest in my life. Lord, when I am weak, help me to stand firm on Your word, Your promises and Your plan.
Until Next Time,
