How many of us say that we trust God? How many of us really trust God? If God told you to leave your job (your only source of income) to serve Him and bring people to the Kingdom, how many of us would willingly do it without hesitation? If it was so clear that it was coming from God, how many of us would say that we need to pray about it more? There are many times when God gives us an answer but it's not the one that we want so we continue to seek Him for a different answer. When you REALLY trust Him, you submit to Him in whatever He tells you to do. If you had everything that you owned and loved taken away from you, would you love God even more or would you turn away and live according to your own will? What if God allowed the people closest to you to be hurt or taken away? Would you still love Him and Trust His will? What if God allowed all of things to happen to you although you have been obedient to His Word, His Will and His way? What would you do? Where would you go?
I am sure that you are familiar with the story of Job. Job was a righteous man. The Bible quotes that he was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. Job was a rich man. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East. Satan traveled to see God (with the angels, I add!) and told God that Job would curse His name should He take away everything that is important to him. God gave Satan permission to do whatever he wanted as long as he didn't kill Job. In Job's first test, he lost his sheep, camels, oxen, donkeys, his servants and his children - all in one day! Job raised up, tore off his robe, shaved his head and bowed down and worshipped God - How powerful!!!!! This tells us that Job trusted God so much that he knew that in the midst of calamity, God would bring restoration. He trusted God's plan. In Job's second test God allowed Satan to inflict sickness upon Job; but Satan was instructed to spare his life. Job's wife told him that he should just curse God and die - the pain was even tough for her to bear! His friends accused him of committing a sinful act. What will you do when you turn around and the people closest to you are accusing you? Who will you trust then?
This was a mighty test for Job. He didn't curse God but he did curse the day of his birth. He became overwhelmed and who wouldn't be? In the midst of Job's grief, he wanted to give up and die. He had no strength left. He wallowed in self-pity. His frustration made him jump to the false conclusion that God was out to get him. He appealed to God to let him know why he was experiencing such calamity and sickness in his life. ("But I desire to speak to the Almighty and to argue my case with God." 13:3). Job was afraid that God has abandoned Him, yet he appealed directly to God. He never stopped trusting that God had a plan though it was hard to see. Job felt that God was treating him as an enemy when it was really Satan that was testing him - God just allowed it to happen. Although Job thought he was going to die, he continued to seek an answer from God and never gave up.
BUT GOD had a greater plan. His voice came out of a storm. He didn't answer Job's question, but rather used Job's ignorance of nature's order to reveal his ignorance of God's mind and character. Not one of us can understand common natural occurrence such as rain or snow, so we therefore cannot explain or question His purpose. We just have to trust Him and submit to His power and sovereignty. God had so much faith in Job that He allowed him to be tested to show His glory unto the nations. We are still seeing God's glory through Job today!
God blessed Job and gave him twice as much as he had before. All his brothers and sisters visited and consoled him. Each of them gave a silver and gold coin before they left. He had more cattle than he had before and his lands extended beyond the earlier boundaries. He had seven sons and three daughters...again. He lived a long time after that and saw his children and grandchildren to the fourth generation. - God gave him double for his trouble!
Will you trust God in whatever trial He sends you through? Will you say yes to whatever He tells you to do, especially when it puts you out of your comfort zone? When you are tested, will you Trust Him or will you turn away and never get to the testimony? God has a plan for your life that you may not be able to see in the near distance. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:4-6). It is easy to recite the verse but sometimes difficult to live it. Any person committed to God should expect an attack from the adversary, but Trust God for He will surely bring you out. God sometimes sends us through tests so that He may be glorified through us.
Will you have the heart of a servant (not a worker) and allow God to do whatever He needs to do in your life in order for His will to be done? How much do you love God? Do you love Him enough to give up EVERYTHING that you have if He tells you to? Will you turn away from him if he takes all of your material possessions and those close to you or will you take off your robe and fall to your knees in worship?
God is about to cause a shift in the world! He is looking for a generation of servants that are willing to be totally submitted to His will. He is looking for children that will turn everything over to Him and trust Him to handle it. Will you be a part of that generation or will you allow Satan to trick you with the material happiness of this world? Job never asked for God to return his possessions; he wanted understanding but was willing to go through the test. If God calls you to do something, will you continue to question his direction or will you just be obedient? Obedience is better than sacrifice and shows that you trust God. We cannot say that we trust God when we are not following His word.
You cannot pick and choose what part of God's Word you choose to follow. We all fall short but if you are comfortable in your sin then you cannot expect God to protect you and bless you. God is not looking for us to stay babies in Christ! He is looking for children that are growing in Him and will raise others up in Christ. Tomorrow is Not promised. Get it right and Trust that God will direct your path. I pray that this word will touch you in a mighty way. I pray that you will trust God's Word, His will, His way and His promises. You will live a life of abundance that you couldn't imagine for yourself. Be obedient, trust in His Word and watch him Bless you. He will give you double for your trouble!!!! I don't know about you but I will go through the test for a Testimony!!!!
"Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him" (Job 13:15)
Until Next Time,
